Where can I find average income level info for a specific town?

Have looked on "up my street" & government websites and found most of the info I need for my business plan but I can't find average salary/income info for a specific town - does anyone know where to get this?
MTC NMP Membership #62 - made it back to size 12 after my children & I'm staying here!

    look up the census info on the county council website then look at the area for which your interested in - it will give you an average household income for that area under industry and income. if that helps
