Which order for revamping house jobs?

We're planning to get the whole house redone, bit by bit as we save up for it. Which order would you do the jobs in? I'm inclining to the exterior stuff first.

- Replace guttering
- Repointing front and back (terrace)
- Repainting bits of exterior (lintels/windowsills etc)
- New back porch
- New front porch
- Rewire whole house
- Replace combi boiler + radiators
- New kitchen
- 3 bedrooms - replastering/painting/new fitted main bedroom
- Flooring (laminate + carpet)
- Interior door replacement

Outside before winter IMO no decorating or porches till after boiler and retire unless they needed for storage. Are you living in it while done?

Yes - they'll have to work around us and 9 cats, so it'll be chaos, but probably a few weeks at a time and then a break while we save up for the next job. We're at the decluttering stage now - it's only taken DH 12 years to agree to part company with some things! Mainly because his daughter just moved in with us. I have no idea what's in the loft except 20-25 boxes of books - I've never been up there.

I would start with the essentials first. A porch can wait and is a luxury. A rewire if bad electrics is essential. A new boiler again is a big priority over guttering.
Doing the outside first will only get messy and your nice guttering, downpipes, front door chipped and knocked when your new boiler and radiators come or when your plaster is mixing outside. No point plastering then having a rewire.
A rewire will be the biggest overhaul with floorboards, carpets coming up, chasing into walls etc.
    Rewire
    Boiler and rads
Interior decoration room at a time when you get the money. Ie plastering, skirting, painting and carpets etc
Finishing touches like doors and furniture
    Then kitchen
Then outside.( If a mess, you can tidy up on a budget until the main work can be done)

The house is deciding the priorities for us. The boiler has packed up so no heating or hot water. This morning my stepdaughter got locked out the front and tried to climb up to a bedroom window, bringing the entire Edwardian carved stone lintel crashing down from above the front door. Sigh.

I would not decorate in cold weather, wood paint does not flow well in the cold. And you want to get radiators back on before it gets cold too. And obviously you want to leave the new kitchen and wall painting to the end, before carpets. Doors can be done at the end, before carpets. Window boards? Coving? Ceilings?
