'Decorative' nails?

Finally getting round to decorating the new ensuite that has been created and a few decorative items have been bought for the walls. These ones are with string along top where you hook them onto a nail and let them hang.

As the nail is on show is there such things as 'fancy' nails like black ones and so on? I know you can use them brass hooks also that come in picture hanging kits but I think they look a bit poo on show.

Apart from me getting some decent looking nails and spraying them black to look decent does anyone have any better ideas?

  • You can get a traditional black rose head nail, it's not really decorative but has a period look about it

They're spot on them! A tad pricey but I can get them in eBay for 99p each and only need a few so not a big deal. I'll keep off buying them until tomorrow just in case anyone else has any ideas but I can't think of what's going to look better than they would.

    Cheers

Could you use a nail with a large head and superglue something decorative on it, like a pretty shell, duck/novelty shaped button, colourful bead from old jewelry, something from your sewing box like a fabric rosette or even mosaic tile for example.

You would have to glue the decorative object after the nail has been hammered in though.

You could always use hooks instead of nails, you can get loads of different decorative versions for them.
