1 can chick peas, 2 tbsp olive oil, 2 finely chopped garlic cloves, and 2 tbsp lemon juice, whizz in blender. easy peasy.

I would personally add tahini to this - just makes it that little bit creamier and mmmmmm. I've never been able to work out a proper amount of it though - just a few splodges until it looks right - experiment!! :)

I'm going to try the baking them as savoury snacks thing :)

Sorry - tahini is sesame seed paste. Theoretically, put enough sesame seeds in the blender and you should be able to make it that way, but I've never tried it - it's stocked in health food shops but I think it's probably also in Asda etc these days - try asking next time you're in the supermarket :) I'll check Asda next time I'm there!

if you happen to be going on holiday to Greece that's where i got my last lot of tahini. bought a couple of jars when i was there last year and still going strong (though have almost finished the one with honey in - lovely on toast :) )

also, re: chick peas my tip would be buy tins. i think its false economy to boil them as takes forever (unless you have an aga which is on anyway) plus i always burn them!! ::)
