Redundancy and found out I am pregnant, advice required

Hi, I am wondering if anyone has been in similar situation and has some advice. I found out this week that I am going to be made redundant this month unless I can be redeployed within company. I have had my first consultation however the day after this meeting, I found out I was pregnant (early stage about 4 weeks) what should I do, should I tell the company or just wait and see if I get redeployed? I know it will be difficult to find another job somewhere else. Btw pregnancy was planned and total shock about redundancy. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Personally I would not say I was pregnant and would wait to see if I am redeployed. If I was redeployed I would only be telling them once I had started my new role & in normal due course. Usually at the earliest, after my 12 week scan but of course you are not obliged to tell them at this point. If my posts have random wrong words, please blame the damn autocorrect not me

You have more employment protection when you are pregnant, they have to offer you any vacancy they have that you could do before they offer it to anyone else. i.e. you are 1st in the queue for other roles.
Whether you tell them or not depends on whether you want to continue working there or not. Sometimes people decide that it's an opportunity to go with some redundancy money to ide them over and they'll think about work after the baby is born. Other times they want the security of having a job to go back to.
You should be able to claim Maternity allowance even if you are not employed. This is an alternative to Statutory maternity pay.0 -

Yes, you're right. It's only on maternity leave. The hot weather must have got to my brain!0

Ok if you get redeployed but for a fixed term eg couple of months with possibility of it being extended does this effect your redundancy rights, do you lose your x amount of years service? Sorry if sounds confusing, just need a little help.0
