Tax credits helpline - issues?

in Benefits & tax credits
Right, have been on hold for 70 minutes so far, and counting. This is the second time today, last time I gave up after an hour. Is anyone else having similar issues?

    Seems like a long time considering from 5-8pm last night there was no queue on Tax Credits lines. Might be worth calling between 3pm and 5pm on a weekday other than Monday or as Houseunderwater said, at 8am.

    I've only ever been on hold for 10 minutes at the most and I always call them at about 3pm.

    I wonder how long you will wait once Universal Credit gets rolled out?
    These are my own views and you should seek advice from your local Benefits Department or CAB.

    I woud say twice aslong given the Job Loses that are coming into effect.

    Ive never been on hold ...perhaps its the times I call? After the orignal 5-10min of clicking loads of buttons it usally goes straight through.
    People don't know what they want until you show them.

    Very strange. After being on hold for 90 minutes I called the same number from another phone and picked different options. Got straight through whilst the other phone was still on hold.
    Some sort of voodoo going on there!
