Bungalow - is it a chalet or dormer?

I am off to look or the schedule of our last house (a bungalow with flush veluxes only) to see how it was described.0

If I had to answer it in a quiz I'd say a chalet bungalow was built like that, a dormer bungalow was developed into that.0

^^^That's a thought.
Just found our schedule....it was described simply as a "a bungalow" so no use I'm afraid.0 -
Thanks, all. I think I'll go with Pastures' suggestion.0

Before you take out any insurance, contact the insurer and clarify that your definition is indeed correct. You don't want a future claim rejected because of a triviality!0

To my mind chalet means something semi-temporary made out of wood and planks, a bit like a holiday house, whereas a bungalow is usually more solid and made out of bricks and mortar.
Dormer is a design of window - I don't see that chalet in itself has any connotation of window style. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0
