Oh I am having an awful time with DS2 today :(

He's supposed to go to his leavers party at school tomorrow evening. It's at 6.30pm and that's where we've got a problem :( Things are really clear cut for him. He hates to mix school and real life. School finishes at 3.30pm and that's it for him. He doesn't like socialising outside of school, so won't go to birthday parties and things. He's really upset at being expected to go to a social event that's school related outside of school hours.
He managed ok with his play last week because for some reason he didn't class it as a social thing??

It's not often Im lost for what to do :( I want him to go because it's such a special event. Encouraging him isn't working at all :(, he's just getting more upset, tears and everything.
Im thinking I should just let him do what he wants and not go. If I make him go and he doesn't enjoy it, there's no point is there?
    Oh poo :(

Is there someone going who he gets along with perhaps a phone chat with them might help, but other than that I think if he doesn't want to no point in forcing him. In one way at least he realises what he can cope with, I know children who can't cope in certain situations but still put themselves into them.

I have absolutely no experience with this sort of thing, so this is just my instinctive reaction. Although it is a special event in general, does it qualify as such to him? In later life, will he have regrets about missing it? If not, I'd say if the thought of it is causing him so much stress, let him stay away xx

    Hi thrifty sister.

I just got an ipad mini, and its great. However I've got my old laptop as a back up, mainly because you can't save PDF coupons on an ipad :D. Hope this helps

QVC have a Todays Special Value offer on ipad minis (around £320 - but that includes a case and some extras in the bundle. I was very tempted but I am a bit of a dinosaur and don't understand how even smart phones work (they had an apple phone at around £600:eek: !!!). I can manage my desk top and a cheapie tablet but thats me done (can't even manage to get photos off my phone onto my computer).

I hated mobiles until I got my iphone, I refused to text people back, I would always ring them back, I rarely bothered charging it but the iphone is so easy to use.

He gets along fine with all the kids in the class, but only until 3.30pm :o he wants nothing to do with them outside school hours because he has a very clear line between school time and real life IYSWIM? It took months of gentle 'pushing', for want of a better word to get him to agree to go in the residential weekend he was on a few months back.
Last week there was a performance in the afternoon and it over ran. He got up at 3.30pm and just walked out of school :o He was having none of it!

Another item not picked up vs Morries it seems to me. (Albeit that the rival APG scheme seems to have come back with 30p for the loose garlic on that rather than M's 25p price - but nonetheless it seems an item whoever checks on behalf of T has missed in Ms, so the main point I am making seems valid.) Alright - I'll stop this T bashing!

I tried this last night and the cashier took the £2.00 off Finest then tried the £2.00 off Italian and it wouldn't scan
She even tried to put it in manually.
Worth someone else trying though with the way the tills work.
    LL

I also bought meal deal with pies and mustard mash. Used chef's (thanks to Chrisv) Finest and Pies coupons. Got a £28 shop (included Vimto x 2) down
to £3.03 and got a PP back for £5.02. Cashier said 'That's not right' and tried to take it off me. Cheeky.......

 'That's not fair' she means! Meaning that she doesn't know how to do it as good as you!:T

Thank you :) Ive slipped with this. I don't often need another perspective on stuff like this to deal with things.
You know, you are right. He won't regret it at all, he won't look back and say 'I wish I'd gone' because he doesn't tick like that.
I think if Im honest maybe I want him to go just because I think he should.
That and maybe the very handsome outfit I bought for it :o:o

The lypsyl gel is something that turned up on one of my wombles, Savvy. I checked it in Ts yesterday and it is indeed on sale for 50p. Not RTC, or on offer just a white SEL 50p.
Actually thanks for reminding me I meant to mention this yesterday for those that can't buy at As but still want some :)

Oh. Showing N/A for T on msm.co.uk for me.
I think RTCs meanwhile (e.g. for Morries) do compare on APG as long as they're not store-specific.

Noted that a certain anti-perspirant shows at 20p for T on the mys list app and a certain herb-flavoured product shows a price of 39p on the app. Any more to be got from there? Or is multis off/on on the app following the actual times the same as the APG? (Rather than msm.co.uk which we know runs ahead - with maybe the logged-in msm.co.uk a few hours behind that but still ahead of the APG?)

Seems I can't buy the gel at Ts (as not showing any trace for me) but can buy at A instead:T.

The Finest Lasagne in the 2 for £6 deal aren't particularly good value - the full price of £3.25 is OTT in my opinion and they are only enough for one person unless you are on the 2:5 diet and can only have half cos of the calories! My DH would have a fit if I gave him half of one even if I padded it out with garlic bread etc. You don't save much by buying too - there are quite a few pairs that are better value.

The CA scanned my Italian coupon easily but then the till wouldn't accept the Finest one - with a bit of pushing, he did eventually put it in as a non scan. For my two pennorth I reckon that to get 2 coupons scanned you have to start out with a £10 spend on Finest stuff - then you can scan 2 Finest coupons or (in theory)1 Finest plus a Pie or Italian depending on what you buy. I say 'in theory' cos, as usual with T's own coupons, these don't always scan and might need manual input so you need to pick a helpful/dozey CA! Easier to just use 2 Finest which do seem to scan OK.
