:o Sorry but my store is for local people & run by local people ;). So I play by their rules ;)
It's bad enough having every MOC held up for a Supervisor to inspect :o

The Pie one works on the £5 + pie and the Finest works on the 2 Finest mash. I don't see that as 'iffey' but we all have different 'lines' and I certainly don't want to cause any ill feeling.

Not quite sure what your last paragraph means (as Martin/someone appears to have checked with Morrisons press office!) but I have copied & pasted the article for the purpose of clarification. :o

Item to purchase Tesco price Cheapest elsewhere Extra cost of buying at Tesco Flora Buttery spread, 1kg* £3.80 £2 at Morrisons £1.80

Comparison prices from Morrisons press office and MySupermarket at Tue 16 Jul.
Prices can fluctuate so always check before buying.

I didn't check because I don't live near enough to a Morrisons (50 mile round trip) so I was hoping for a screenshot :) if Mr Ts didn't cough up.:(

I meant that it doesn't make a flying bit of difference what price is on the M website or promotional material

All that matters is the price on the day of the price checkers' visit
Apparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen

Only if you're bringing your extensive music collection ;):D
Could have done with it today actually to drown out the numpties blasting carp songs :rotfl:

Actually, it was pretty cold there today! We arrived about 12, and it was rather windy and the sun wasn't for coming out. Wasn't quite the same lying on the beach with a hoody on and a towel over your legs to keep warm! :rotfl::rotfl:
Ended up going to Elgin instead where it was lovely. Played on the pedalo boats, took DD to the park and had ice cream

If you do ever make it up this far you'll have to let me know :)

Oh I had my first snog on that beach :D:rotfl::rotfl: Elgin is lovely too though. Oh I intend to venture up that way at some point. If getting OH as far as Skye next month is a success, I may be able to convince him to venture further

First result - 87p:), better than nothing and on a par with what's most common. Vs Sains. gave that result, mainly due to little all comparing to Sains. Next best was Waities (only 6 items comparable there). Whole Chicken - if indeed that size should even be bought:rotfl: - was better vs T (showing £3.72 there). Not sure if the Extra Large Whole Chicken instead would compare though and may be a lot cheaper than £3.72 elsewhere (Morries half price £2.40/kg???) I think the weights on different ones at rivals though usu. put paid to that:(. So - they bought all this lot, only for 7 items to compare to S:rotfl::rotfl:...

Nectarines vs M at £1. I wouldn't copy this shop:cool:. The size of those beans, for over 40p, doesn't attract me any. Nor is the fab. cond. any good value ----:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:alright, Savvy getting into it in detail..:rotfl:- just post the comp.!:)

LFAB are you managing to watch the darts? I had to sell my tickets, yet again :( I kind of thought I would, but still disappointed. I even tried paying DS2 to come with me but he refused :o:rotfl:

 You know I would never knowingly buy items in T that were same price in A. All of them miss out on the 10%.

(Even if MOCs may make the price better, if they are specific to T - however, even there, if another item was avail. for the MOC, significantly and well more than 10% cheaper in A, I would (if I were shopping in T) buy that in T. Otherwise, I don't see it as moneysaving to lose 10% of the cost everytime an item the same price in T and A is bought in T. Even as a filler - some other filler, such as all the non-comp ones on the first post, would be better used than an item being used as a filler that loses the 10%.)

Savvy, I think COT and aau1 are making a really important point here. It is one of the best things I learned about savvy shopping.

For a very very simple example, there is a product that you want and need that costs £4 at both T and A. You say it is always better to buy at A to get the 10% margin. But when there is a proliferation (:p) of mocs, particularly if they include some high value ones that are T specific (as at the moment), then T wins hands down, probably even if you have to travel a bit further to a T store.

Buy 10 of said product for £40. If bought at A, you are paying £36. If bought at T, there is a £1 moc for each item and a number of stacking cs mocs, but just use a £5 wys £40 for an example. Cost at T £25. That is a massive differential. Even without the product specific moc, with a HH it is £35 at T and £36 at A. But the T cs mocs stack, so you could have £8, £10, £14 off £40 before you even start on product mocs. For me, this is T's usp and puts them ahead of the game.

So we all fritter away hours making lists to capitalise on the mocs available, and there are times when all the different strands come together to enable you to play shopping bingo - where you ring through a £40+ shop, use a shed load of mocs and get back a price comparison voucher for more than you have handed over in hard cash.

This very rarely happens at A, sometimes at S, but much more frequently at T. So allegiance is switched to T irrespective of how competitive their prices are for individual products because you don't care if something costs 20p more at T if you are getting say £40 of food for a tenner AND a ca £10 pp to go round and do the whole thing again.

Frequent and COT are very very good at this and aside from pure glitches, this is how I regularly save the most money off my grocery bills.
