I have just edited my signature and I really wanted to say a heartfelt thank you.

When I found the ELITE at New Year '13 we were in our second year of struggling since my husband's redundancy. We have six children and a rather large mortgage and benefits weren't quite stretching. My husband and I were literally living on toast and value pasta so that the children could have some fruit and veg etc.

You guys opened my eyes to the amount of money that I could save on food shopping etc. I thought that I was doing the right thing by buying 'value' everything but I was so wrong. I have learnt so much from you.

I am happy to say that seven months on my husband has a new job which has just been made permanent (after contracting since March). Financially, we are so much better off but this isn't because he has a huge salary (I wish) this is because of what I have learned from the ELITE. I have a small stash, know my target prices for most things and stick to them, and only buy if something represents good value for money (is a bargain) and I NEED it. I even have a coupon wallet! We do not waste money any more.

I love how the people on this thread work together, share knowledge and support each other. There is always someone here to help. I don't post an awful lot as I feel that I don't have much to contribute- I still have a lot to learn- but I love reading and feeling part of something special. Just today that spirit of sharing and assisting has been demonstrated in response to my post about the Ready Meal vouchers. It makes me sad when I read criticism from people who don't use the thread, saying that the ELITE are selfish and greedy. This is so far from the truth. This is a kind, cooperative place- even though I am not a prolific contributor I am always made to feel welcome.

So that is my rather long winded way of saying thank you- for everything that you have shared, all that you have taught me, your kindness and generosity. You have made the hugest difference to my family's life.

    xxx

Thank you to everyone whose advice has helped me in my desperate quest to make ends meet. x

EDIT-Back on the quest, I've been away too long!

Has anyone tried using the £2 off £5 ready meal on the finest meal deal please?

Yes, I used 2. SA just put it through, so with the pp on the granache and mash, it cost £3.50. HTH

I got that sports bottle this morning as well! I'm none the wiser where it came from either though :rotfl::rotfl:

I got one this morning too - no idea where it has come from :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

I have tried at least twice to get the FB coupon for the meals - anybody got the link handy, maybe 3rd time lucky :D Thank you.

I think that pic is going around the Internet......don't think it's aau!

At least, I hope not. Might do a little targeted shop later as the Cushelle MOCS are running out today. Up for a Sada trip PD? *she smiles sweetly*

Oh go on then you cheeky minx, I have 27 vimto vouchers to use up before our next food bank expedition.

Hello everyone! It's starting to cool down a wee bit in London, well there's a nice breeze at least. Will look out for the ready meal coupons later for those that need them. Also have a few left over from Mr Ts. magazine. If anyone wants them or are after a particular one PM me and I'll post it off today/tomorrow :)

For those of you who have managed to find the ready meals booklets, do they have online codes on them at all?
Ts have improved lately and most of the Real Food mag vouchers have codes for online use. Wondered if these were the same? TIA :)

mummyvb - great to hear that you are getting things back on track, a lot of us have been in the position you were in.

Please don't feel you don't have enough to post - a lot of us post the most peculiar things (especially overnight :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:), I don't think anyone really knows the subject of this thread so it doesn't have to be anything specific, not even a bargain, just come here to have a chat :D
