In need of a little Elite advice.
I have reported to my letting agent today that I have a leak from underbath plumbing which has led water to come down the wall of room underneath. Obviously I am now worried about using bath and making it worse (well worse than I did yesterday). I am unable to take off bath panel as glued on so not able to put bowl under leak.

Now the part we disagree on is how long it is reasonable to wait for them to send out their plumber. I am worried about using bath and suggested the longest I can manage without a bath was 48 hours. I said if it went on longer than that then I would have to employ my own plumber and send in the bill.
Seeing the damage to the room below I think that is a reasonable length of time for someone to come out and make safe (ie remove panel and put bowl under).

Landlords letting agent says this is not long enough but will not tell me what length of time I should wait.
I reported the problem as soon as I noticed it which means I have kept up my part of tennancy. There is nothing to say how long I must wait for repair or even for someone to come out and look at it.

As you can imagine given the past problems from this landlady I am worried that she will not come at all.

I can't get to Sada to check this one out but if anybody else thinks it may be of use. Fry's Choc Cream 4 packs show on MSM as being on offer at Sada but when it's put into the basket, Sainsbob price is showing as 3p.

Afternoon not caught up yet but
Tropical Sun foods have sent a competition to win a years supply of coconut water my inbox is now overflowing with people emailing them because the link doesn't work. Somehow they have linked all of the email addresses so don't be surprised if it happens to you. I have just spoken to them and they have closed the link down. Do not reply to the email as this is what's sending it round everyone. It has happened to others as well.

Hugs to all who need them

Hope everyone is having a great day xx
    I had about 14 emails:(

I would say 48 hours is more than reasonable, depending on how bad the leak is I would have suggested 24 !!!

If it were me VT i'd send a plumber straight out, alot of my LA work involved repairs to ceiling from leaks above, the invoice's would make you .

Not to mention the danger of water coming into contact with electric wires running through the joists, and the insulation getting wet.

I'd also say that a day without a bath in this heat is more than alot to ask.

Get back on the phone and start doing some demanding VT, take no !!!!.

The bath panel should not be glued in either, silicon mastic has adhesive properties and stops the water leaking in between the panel and floor, !!!!!! sounds like a fred carno's army job.

Last point, a bucket won't hold a bath full of water, and if it's under the waste trap how will you get it out without spilling the water ?

A simple replacement trap, or tightening of existing trap is the cure, nothing else, it's a pretty simple job, you might do yourself and bill them for it ...

I would say 48 hours is very reasonable, I would have said 24 hours. It is their problem to sort it out, will cost them more money in the long run, if they don't. Hope you get it sorted quickly.

    Bonjour mes amis,

Just logging in quickly on a dodgy internet connection from France (Limeuil, Dordogne)

Spending a few weeks relaxing in the sun after recent but still ongoing problems. Things are much better now though.

Being a muggle shopper in the uk is bad enough but being a muggle shopper here is frightening! Just been to the local supermarket and spent 80 quid on food etc that will last us for about 4 days:eek: I seem to have a relapse every time I have to open my wallet here:rotfl:

Just about to make some lunch and then take a canoe trip on the Dordogne river for about 4 hours.

Hope everyone is well as I haven,t been keeping up. See you all soon hopefully:)
:j Hope the journey down was better than you had anticipated and you have a great time over there :D
    Muggles on tour :rotfl:
