Morning all. I received an offer from Mr T via email. Spend £40 online twice before the 4 Aug and receive a £20 voucher for the next shop. Is it worth it? Anyone have any suggestions on how to use it wisely? Thanks

Probably £20 off when you spend a further £40? So, spend £120 in total and get £20 back. Not worth it to me, but for some it might be useful, depending on what you might need to buy before 4th August!.

I thought I was the only one who rememebered when we had to buy two magazines to find out what was on in any detail . I once lived in a city where different streets had different ITV franchises and you had to be careful which TV Times you picked up at the newsagent.

And the TV didn't start till close to five and it was kind of a children's hour with two programmes and Jackanory. Except for Friday when it was Crackerjack!

And they played the national anthem after the last programme. And you needed a special button so your telly could get BBC2.

My grandparents telly was older than that and they called BBC1 channel 3 and STV was channel 3. Of course it wasn't called BBC1 back then!

And every second TV show (Gunsmoke, Bonanza, High Chaparral, Wild, Wild West, Maverick, Alias Smith and Jones, the Virginian, the Lone Ranger, etc....even Kung Fu) was a western (as were half the movies).:D

Oh, I loved Alias Smith and Jones :)

When I was very young my parents rented a TV. You had to put money in a slot in the back but if you didn't have the right change when it ran out you missed the rest of the programme

    Good morning all.
Just had a skimmy catchup. Sorry for the lack of thanks.:o
QOC hope your brother gets better quickly. I agree that having knowledge is not always a good thing.
TS hope you have a lovely holiday, and that you come back with a refreshed mojo.
Welcome back FF, missed your late night banter.
Nannylala, put your feet up at every opportunity.
I had an unplanned busy day yesterday. Went to tidy the conservatory and realised how grubby it looked. I ended up stripping everything out and cleaning it out. ( thank goodness for last years glitchy cleaning stuff!). Soooo many windows, I hate cleaning them, but the cheapie Karcher speeded the job up. The plants needed repotting, so did that too. It was hard work cos it was so hot, but the end result is worth it. It looks lovely now. The upshot was that I had an unintentional nsd day, but today is a different matter. I intend to go out mega shopping as soon as DH goes off to visit his Mum.:D
I hope you all have a lovely day.
    Hugs.
