I was sat having a drink in the garden earlier (J20 - nothing exciting ) and I noticed loads of redcurrants on a bush that are ready for picking..............and I wondered if its not too difficult whether I could make some jam or some redcurrant stuff to go with deep fried camembert or brie. Do you think that somebody who burns everything could manage something edible :rotfl:My family beg me not to bake  so nothing too taxing please!!

    Start easy thrifty,

Simmer the red currants with sugar, brown if you have it, orange zest and some port for about 20 mins. I tend not to do measurements but I would say about 10oz sugar to 1 lb of fruit. Take out zest when cool and put in clean jars and keep somewhere cool. Serve with your cheeses, cold meats or lamb. It will be more of a sauce than a jelly or jam but I think you will like it:)

Princes pomegranate juice drink still off MSM, looking good. My loose lemon (one of my attempted 8) is on MSM (tentative :)). But also part of "4 for £1" for T, that now only appears when logged out:mad::(. I need those three different Campbells to appear and compare, and the Princes Orange juice to just give me 8.

I am a bit hot and bothered (but not complaining no siree)..however I am about to embark on the hell that is DS's bedtime routine

Be back later with a large glass [STRIKE]bottle[/STRIKE] of something ;)

I m hot and tired....although the sunshine disappeared hours ago. Must be 10 degrees cooler than it was earlier.

Just about to jump in a bubbly bath and partake in the Tour de France catch up. Whether I like it or not:cool:
