why did the charity shop have a pineapple?
My parents had one of them old fashioned ice cubes tubs with a lid and it was a pineapple, maybe they thought it was that?

He said they had quite a lot of them. My guess is that the nearby greengrocer wanted rid of them and the enterprising shop manager saw a way to make a few pennies. Very MSE methinks.essex girl in exile0 -
