Hi Guys
This may seem so simple but I'm not exactly tech savvy. :p
I am currently trying to fill in an application form online (word doc).
I have found the tick symbol but I can't get it inside the boxes my cursor will only go either side of the box when I insert the tick so the tick will go to left or right of the box, normally I wouldn't be too fussed but this form has to be right and needs completing a.s.a.p, please help me!:(
Thanks

I don't think you need to insert the symbol as such - have you tried just clicking on the box?

Playing around now I may have it half sorted. I've got the tick where the option box is but the box disappears, suppose that could do if I can't do it!. :0)

It's infuriating that people create forms with a box that says tick here but don't put in place the necessary code to just be able to click it to tick. I know most of them were probably designed back in the days when it was completed with a pen on paper, but those days are long gone now.

If you can delete the box completely, you can add, via "insert symbol", a box with a tick in it. It's what I usually do.

Sounds like the originator doesn't know how to create a "form" with tick boxes and used a symbol from a font such a Wingdings2.

2 options. Insert a symbol from Wingdings2 or delete the box and insert an uppercase "X".

    In Office 2010:

    Go to the "Insert" tab.

Click on "Symbol", over to the right.

    Choose "More Symbols...".

Scroll down the Wingdings characters and there's a tick symbol (with or without a box) near the end.

Double-click the symbol (or single-click and click on the Insert button).
