The Dreaded Dry Spell

Think I must enter something like 1000 to 1200 comps a week and I often go without a win for a few weeks and then randomly I end up getting 3 wins in a day. Nothing huge, just some, what I call 'bread and butter prizes'. I wouldn't worry tipsychick86.
Often prizes, letters, WEM's appear ages after the comp ened. I once won a bike and they only contacted me 3 months after the comp had ended to let me know I'd won.

Ive been comping about a year and a half. At the begginning I seemed to be winning all the time (vouchers, xbox, designer bags) and now it seems like I am going through a very dry spell - all Ive won the past few weeks are a trolley key ring and a plastic pig money box! Am losing the will! It is all the luck of the draw plus I do get enjoyment of entering them! Sending you all lots of lucky dust! xoxo

I all depends on what you call a dry spell , I enter around 2k comps a week but in April/May I won about 4 times, June was brilliant with around 20 including 2 biggies and so far in July nada

Yeah it can be tough and I think the dry months are what make the "serious compers" believe me I wanted to give up a few times in my first two years but then in a 18 month spell I won holiday to Vegas, LA, Centre Parcs Twice etc and then in 2013 nothing big again just small prizes so far. Hang in there as it can tend to cluster a bit

the highest value win I've had since the end of April has been about £50 -- having been comping for 2 and half years, this is the very worst it's been. The last couple of months have been incredibly quiet! But the start of the year was amazing, Jan till April was really good. So, I can only hope this is a very dry spell and it will pick up again. I do anything from 50 to 150 a day probably, but I often will do less on the weekend, (maybe 40!). It's very hard when you enter so much, you need it to be worth it to keep going because so much time/effort is put in. x

Been comping with 2 small breaks for about 22 years ish
and so far this year I won a whole one prize.Which made someone really happy for their 21st

ya just have to keep plodding along and hoping that the longer the dry spell the bigger the prize at the end of it.

I started comping properly the start of last year, I won at least one thing big or small every month, apart from november and december when I couldnt be bothered with all the advents and was far to busy xmas shopping

I've won a few things so far this year but I've not won anything for nearly 2 months myself now, despite entering loads.


Not sure if its just me but I've noticed my email inboxes have been quieter than usual as well (unless I'm just checking & deleting more regulary XD) as usually I open my emails in and I'm spammed with 20+ junk/newsletters etc..

I haven't won anything in the four years I've been using this site! I probably don't enter as many as the more serious compers but it feels like a lot. I enter most of the ITV comps, Take a Break and many more including smaller prize comps etc. The only big prize I won was in 1978 a Combi Camp trailer with Good Housekeeping magazine. Oh and I did win a good torch as a runner up prize and whenever I use it it reminds me of the BMW that I didn't win!
