if she is able to roll over by herself then AFAIK its ok for them to sleep in whatever position they feel they want to. If she cant however and would get stuck if she rolled onto her tummy then id say just gently roll her back. However saying that i do often wake up to my little girl (5.5 months) sleeping on her side.0

my dd1 and dd2 slept on their fronts when they were about 7 months the HV said if they can lift their heads that not to worry. You may wake baby up to move her up and find her back in the same position as before Just check her regulary for your peace of mind and make sure she does not have a cot bumper or any pillows.0

no cot bumper or pillows. and she can hold her head up fine and is starting to try and sit up on her own.
she is all curled up in the fetal position and looks so cute!!
i think i'll leave her alone as she is a crabby mare if she gets woken up! tbh i'm not worried by DH is so paraniod that the house would covered in bubblewrap if he had his way!0 -
My baby often turns onto her side herself and settles better on her tummy. I posted a hread about this a few weeks ago and the perfect parents came out in force to criticise me for this. Prepare yourself in case you get similar harsh comments.
If baby is happy on her side I would leave her like that. From about 6 months old my middle son used to roll onto his tummy and tuck his knees up so his bum was stuck in the air. No matter how many times I put him on his back, he rolled back into this position, so I gave up and left him to it!Here I go again on my own....0 -

Wouldn't we all, though with your first you are always that extra protective. Imagine you dh when she starts dating, if he's like my dh, he will not be letting your young un out of the door till she's 50 :rotfl: :rotfl:0 -

i gave her a piece of toast yesterday and he was so worried that she would break a bit off and choke, he took it off her in the end. she'll be 50 with no mates still eating pureed veg!0 -
Don't worry too much Heather, by 7 months they're pretty sturdy creatures - I'm sure your little one will be fine on her side. By the time you get to baby number 4 you'll be letting them sleep hanging upside down from their cot mobiles!!!
JxxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -
