Praise, Praise, Praise

I'm a semi regular lurker on this board - usually just to see if there's anything especially concerning with a company/product I'm maybe not too familiar with.

What I invariably find is a lot of vents and warnings but not a great deal of praise. I think due to that well worn fact that you'll tell far fewer people about something good than you will about something bad.

So here's just a selection of random prasies for companies/brands that have helped me out recently;

Wagamama - bad take out, commented on twitter that it wasn't usual standard, £20 received in post as a 'sorry'. Great work.

American Airlines - commented on twitter that couldn't select seats for upcoming flights, nice direct message exchange and seats selected as requested. Excellent customer service.

Hilton Hotels - allowed me to use my points to book a stay for sister in law and husband. Great present for them, cost nothing but points to me, fantastic.

Asda - the price guarantee is great, small amounts but I'm shopping there anyway and getting a few quid back now and again is a bonus.

Asda - wrong lightbulb purchased, mother in law takes it back for exchange. As she's completing the exchange she knocks it off the counter and smashes it. Assistant puts through the exchange anyway even though within her rights to refuse it. Top drawer.

First Direct - opened a new acount earlier in year to take advantage of offer to get £125 when switching. I didn't know dealing with a bank could be so easy! Bye bye LloydsTSB!!

That'll do for now but it felt good writing it and I'm going to do it again in a few months, maybe more of you should try!

    You won't look back from First Direct. I have been with them seven years now and never, ever had so much as a tiny quibble.

    The best bit is when you want to talk to them, they pick up the phone in seconds (Most I've ever had to wait is 15 seconds) and are always cheerful, polite and helpful. Hope you can understand Scottish though ;)

    I went to a Toby carvery a few months ago and had a horrible experience. made a complaint about it online not expecting anything and received a £25 voucher and apology through my email :) was really chuffed, I hadn't expected anything at all.

    I used the voucher at a different toby carvery to the original one I went to and it was much nicer :D

    The other day I had to wait 30 seconds before they answered, it felt like forever compared to normal then I remembered that compared to any other bank 30 seconds is unheard of :P
