Unwanted free insect

Yuk. Just yuk.

I am queasy anyway at the minute with horrible morning sickness and the only thing taking the edge off is my daily couple of bowls of Cheerios. My and the little one are (were) really into them. Until today, when I found my 'free gift'. An orrible insect, free with one of our two massive new boxes of Cheerios.

Same batch, sadly. So I can't eat any more at all from either the open 600g box or the closed one. I just can't.

Who is going to give me my money back for two humungus boxes of cheerios only purchased Tuesday evening? Nestle want me to root through my household bin to find it and send it to them - no refund :-(. But what if it went down the sink with the milk? And I already feel sick - no way am I upturning the bin and going through it with a magnifying glass. Yes I shouldn't have thrown the bug away after photographing it. Nestle like the photograph. Not enough to reimburse me without the corpse though.

Will Tesco refund even though it isn't their product? I realise bugs can get into things. I just don't think I could ever eat another bowl without worrying what is in it. Put me right off.

You look to the person you bought from to refund you but you must have the evidence - obviously
Once upon a time this was very lucrative, I guesss the manufacturers caught on.
The only thing that is constant is change.

You can call Tesco customer services, and ask them for the refund. They will open a case for you, give you the reference number, and with this number you can go to any of their stores for am refund. You won't need the product probably. They may ask you to bring the packaging if possible.
They have been always excellent with this sort of problems, as far as I know.
Very recently a customer bought a drink there, which was not their brand, misdescribed.
Tesco gave a refund whithout a word.
Waitrose do the same, if not extra.
Sainsbury's also give refunds for such things .

You should not expect any problems. Do not worry! Cheers.

The evidence has crawled away most likely... still could trust the word...

I don't know how you store your cereal, is it possible that the box stood open for a while on the breakfast table and an insect managed to get in between Tuesday and today?

Not saying this happened, just that it's possible, I would probably have eaten the cereal while keeping a watch as I poured it into the bowl for foreign objects. Also may be the insect was in the milk? As you had milk on the cereal as well.

This being summer and loads of insects flying about I had a cup of tea the other day and when I got to the bottom realised a moth had flown in while I wasn't looking and I'd nearly drunk it!

Also, I hope your morning sickness gets better soon as it's horrible feeling queasy x

    That joke didn't fare well
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

What if it was in the milk to start with? And you've now drunk the rest of the milk.

oooo good point! What if as it has been pointed it wasn't from the cheerios and had crept in there but before getting in there it had laid eggs first which now may be in the cupboard making their way into other products!!!

As said, how do you know it came in the cheerios box?If you poured milk down the sink I'm guessing you had served the cereal, with milk, and so it could have come from pretty much anywhere
