so what do you think i should do then?
Sit back like they do or work? If i am only going to get £200 a year pay rise i think that’s a bit of a !!!! take tbh. Don’t you?
When i started it was ok. but now i am trained and helping others to train and respected member of the team as i have a lot of strengths that other don't have.
I was in a job where I did more work than the others and could prove it even though it was not part of my job and got no pay rise for several years when others got 4%

Again all depends how far you are prepared to push it. Just ask yourself, how will you take it if they say no?

I think you should do your job.

No, at a time when few workers will get any pay rise irrespective of how well they do their job, I do not think £200 is a joke.

Is pay negotiation usual in your company? Where I work the pay rises are according to their schedule with no individual negotiation at all.

However, it is possible to negotiate to be sent on (relevant) training courses, have private study fees paid, or go to meetings which can be very worthwhile, enjoyable and expensive!

In reality this means you will go up one increment each year until you reach scale maximum, unless something is wrong with your performance in which case they will withhold your increment. It may be possible to jump two increments in one year, where I work you have to write a 1500 word justification of why you deserve this. The dept director will then select 3 applications from the department to go to the staffing committee and additional increments are allocated by the committee according to budget and how compelling the individual case is. I think just asking for an additional increment because you work hard and deserve it will be given pretty short shrift. You need to come up with a fully evidenced argument, addressing how your performance exceeds all expectations and KPIs over an extended timeframe.
