Astonoimical heating costs

HI,
I have been hit by combined energy bills averaging around £220 per month this year, which is way more than we budgeted. We use the heating sparingly and are always cold also.
We had a new gas boiler in and that made things no better, recently we have had extra insulation put in the roof, and the radiators flushed.
what else coudl or should we be doing ?

How much gas and electricity have you used?0

In kWh please, not £'s per month, which tell us nothing about your actual annual usage. No free lunch, and no free laptop

Fundamentally - insulating an insulated roof when the rest of the building is uninsulated will make a barely measurable difference in your bills.
Same with replacing most functioning boilers.
Turn the heating down, or have it on less hours, or both.
Set the hot water so it only heats the tank once a day, not keeps it topped up.
Draught seal the windows.
WEAR MORE LAYERS.
Unfortunately, if you cannot insulate the floor and walls - there is very, very little you can do other than to minimise use.0 -
Perhaps you chaps ought to get a sticky put up stating before you tell us about your bill, please let us know
tariff
Location
Consumption in kwh
It would save so many hours

An idea of the size of the property would also be helpful. The bill is high for a 2 bed back to back, for my mate's 6 bedroom detached Victorian property it may be perfectly reasonable.0
