A tad high?
I'm with Powergen and have been doing monthly meter readings for both gas and electricity. Last month's leccy reading was 74849 (1 May) and this month's reading (today) is 153 units higher at 75002.
The gas difference was only about 30 units for the same period and I've gotten into the habit of switching off sockets and/or pulling out plugs for items not used overnight or during the day, ie television (not Sky box), computer/printer etc, stereo unit. I turn off the water connections to the washing machine when not being used also.
When I put in the leccy meter reading I got a message saying it was outside Powergen's estimation of my usage, so I don't know if that means they will send someone round to read the meter soon or what. I live in a two bedroom flat and my brother has been here for 3 weeks and left this afternoon, but, apart from mobile phones he hasn't generated extra leccy as he was out most days and used less leccy than me! I've had the heating on when the cold spell was here as my brother had been in the Caribbean for a few months so felt the cold more than usual.
Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

153 units(kWh) in a month is just over half the national annual average of 3,300kWh. That is just a computer generated message I guess and nothing should happen. If they come and check your readings - so what?
30 units of gas does NOT mean 30kWh. It depends if you have a Metric meter(cubic metres), or an Imperial meter(100 Cubic Feet). - most are now Metric. If Metric this approx 340kWh if Imperial approx 970kWh.0 -
Cardew, does that mean my leccy usage between 1 May and today is nothing to worry about? The 365 Day 1p Challenge 2025. Member #420

I think its just the new input screen at Powergen.
I got exactly the same, but when I looked at it again the next day, all seemed OK.
Just log in and look at it again tomorrow.Bad Spellers of the world untie0 -
Your consumption was about 4.6 units per day. Thats less than half what I use so nothing to worry about at all.0
