You bought a BMW, surely you expected parts to be expensive? In fact £150 isn't even that expensive compared to some.
Is it a newish car? or is it an old banger from the 1980's?“I may not agree with you, but I will defend to the death your right to make an a** of yourself.”

Agreed. If it is a newer car it might even be possible to start it with a laptop!

You beat me to it. I would think it's actually cheaper to clone your own key than go the dealers.0 -
If you have the working key, the famous shoe and key cutters in most town centres can cut and make you a transponder key for £30-£40Be happy...;)0

Thanks for your responses. I appreciate the fact that, yes, parts for a BMW would be more expensive but it doesn't mean I want to roll over and just pay whatever they're asking without checking whether I could get it cheaper first :-)
It's a 2005 model, so it will need a key that requires programming to the vehicle.
Thanks, though, as I will ask the local key cutter whether they can cut it and do a transponder too.0
