PPI taken out whilst in a 1 year contract?

hi there- my ppi complaint relates to a graduate loan with Lloyds in 1998. At the time of the loan, i was in a 1 year 'sabbatical' position working for the student union, so I'm not sure that PPI would have been relevant?
I had already submitted my claim to PPI which they refused, but didn't mention the fact that I was in a temporary contract in their refusal letter?
any thoughts- thanks!

It would have been if you were working more than 16 hours a week and being paid for it.
Was the sabbatical during a degree? Or were you working somewhere else before this?
In other words, was this a years working out as part of your degree?

its nice to actually comment on a post that does sound like mis-sold PPI.

the fact you weren't in permanent employment is the issue here. your employment with the student union was always going to come to an end and you would have had trouble claiming.

it was unsuitable for you. refer it to FOS if I were you, but be prepared to wait.

It will depend on the wording of the policy itself but temporary work and fixed term contracts are very unlikely to have been covered. Check if Lloyd's refusal letter was their 'final response', if it wasn't then go back to them first and push the point about your work situation. If it was their final response take it to the FOS.
