Stolen - my Honda Shadow VT1100 ACE Mororbike

My beloved Honda Shadow VT1100 ACE motorbike was stolen from outside my home in Southampton some time over night between 2nd and 3rd July. I desperately want her back so I'm doing everyone I can think of to trace her.

She is black and red with registration R459 RRA. She has a bat decal on the headlight, a 1" scratch on the base of the tank and a small crease on the right shoulder and a dent on the back of the left wing mirror. Here's a pic (doesn't show the dent, scratches or bat):

If anyone sees her or a bike that might be her please, please call the police. The ACE wasnt released in this country so there aren't many around.

I know technically this isn't to do with money saving but I'm heartbroken she's gone and words do not describe how I feel about the scum that took her  Any help massively appreciated.
I don't like chick flicks, I get grazed knuckles doing my own car repairs and I ride a massive cruiser motorbike. To many this makes me a bloke in disguise but to my husband this makes me perfect

Keep an eye on ebay and gumtree for bits. Stolen bikes are usually either broken up for bits or nicked by kids and raced round the local woods.

given the style of bike I'd go for option one so it might still be in one piece at this point.

Good luck, it's terrible when things like this happen.
What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?

You on facebook? Biker friends often share details of stolen bikes on there.

It's of no use now, but there are GPS units you can buy, which take PAYG sim card and text you their GPS location, they don't cost a fortune, might be worth the spend if you get the bike back OR if you get a new one.
On the downside it'd probably be found inside a traveller site, in which case even if you can see it from outside, the Police probably wouldn't risk going in for something like a motorbike.

    Hope you locate it though!!

Also in addition to the above mentioned websites, check Craigslist, it'll take a while because it's got regional sites, but A LOT of stolen goods end up on that site.

Not this one is it? (I know nothing about bikes so there are probably some very obvious reasons why it isn't, ignoring the reg number)

  • Thanks everyone for your support. all the local bike shops and garages have her details, I've posted her details everywhere I can think and they've been shared all over the country thanks to The web. Daily checks of eBay, Gumtree and auto trader so for have yielded nothing but apparently it can take a couple of weeks for anything to pop up.

Someone has reported a possible sighting in Barnsley yesterday so if there are any MSE-ers in that area could you keep a special look out?

The insurers and police reckon the rate of recovery for cruisers is better than sports bikes so fingers crossed, but I'm working on the basis that she's gone for good :(

Similar, but the very obvious reason it's different (and as a biker myself), is that that bike is a 750cc, and the one stolen is a 1100cc (The clue is in the name - VT750/VT1100)

Also it's being sold by a Honda dealer, so doubt they'd be selling on a stolen bike.

Anyhow it's a distinctive bike so will keep a lookout for it, even though I'm in London.

I think ebay would be too obvious.....
