Ridiculous. It is not illegal to help people get into the country - it is illegal to help them get into the country illegally - if you can see the distinction. So it is not illegal to marry someone and bring them into the country and therefore your talk of conspiracy is OTT - until and unless it becomes a sham marriage.

Plainly, no financial inducement has been offered at this point, there is no evidence that a sham marriage is proposed, so until and unless, the woman is playing cupid and people should keep their hair on about it.

I meant it would be illegal to bring them in as a result of a sham marriage - and there does not need to be a financial inducement for it to be a sham. Clearly a legitimate marriage would be fine, clearly i tried precis my post a bit too much.

Clearly the OP was aware it would be a marriage of convenience simply for the man to gain entry. Financial gain or not - continuing to engage in the conversations about this could be seen as conspiracy, even if she isn't part of the arrangement she would be part of the overall process if person who approached the OP does manage to get this man in as a a result of a sham marriage and the OP didn't report it - the OP needs to distance herself from this at once and report it to the relevant agency.
