Trying to reclaim charges from Halifax

Hi I was wondering if you would be able to help me out with a bank charge reclaim query.
I have been charged £75 plus interest for two months by using Halifax Platinum Visa Credit Card, for paying for goods to a company in liquidation who used a third party (Santander) to reclaim their debts from me. Santander took the money out as a cash payment, which I did not authorise, I was under the impression that this was just a normal credit card payment.
Do I have grounds for appealing this and reclaiming back this money?
Thanks
P

I'm sorry, can you explain further the bit about the bit where you say you "did not authorise".
I ask because you start off by saying you used your credit card to pay for goods. You also say "I was under the impression that this was just a normal credit card payment"
This suggests to me that you are well aware of the transaction, and that you most probably did authorise it.0 -

Yes but as I said I always pay by a standard credit card payment and the bank took the money out as a 'cash payment' which is a different form of payment and this incurred the high charge.0 -
Certain transactions can be classed as cash advances. What were the goods you purchased? (to see if its one of those)I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
