Refund on Credit Card

Hi,
Looking a bit of advice about credit card. I booked a hotel with my card and the amount was charged immediately to my card. Before I could take the stay something came up and I had to cancel. On checking the T&C's I could do this with no charge.
I was expecting a refund to my card but it's been over a month now and still no refund. I'm waiting on the company investigating but was just wondering if my card company can help. The charge was made in January 2013 so a while ago and I've already cleared the balance on the card.
Any information much appreciated.
