Have a look at this:
http://www.ntlworld.com/help/support/solution.php
It refers to Outlook Express but it is very similar to Microsoft Outlook.0 -
OE is a free client, which is bundled with Windows. Outlook, on the other hand, is a fully-featured e-mail client, which comes with MS Office (sometimes separate, bundled with some PDA devices). I'd personally use Outlook.
For more info - try here (and follow the link to MS website).0 -
I prefer Outlook to Outlook Express as it has more features but if you just want to use it for email alone the OE will do you fine!0

Make sure that you have not misspelled the pop3 server, and that the field "username" has your full e-mail address.0

As far as I know, NTL does not use spa (actually, not many do). It's simply a way of secure password exchange. Not quite sure what you meant by setting a password for the ntl account upon outlook opening. Could you clarify?0

File->Data File Management->Settings->Change Password...
Type the password you want in "New Password:" and "Verify Password:", click OK, OK again, than Close. Close Outlook and open it again to test. Should do the trick.
P.S. The above is for Outlook 2003 (but should be OK for previous version as well).0 -

Access to your PC should be password protected. Don't you have to log on with a user name & password?Warning ..... I'm a peri-menopausal axe-wielding maniac0
