New Application - Tenancy Agreement

Hi,
Just looking for a bit of advice. I am currently looking for a property with my partner this time as opposed to on my own.
We will be going in on a joint tenancy, however, tenant 1 has a CCJ on their credit file from a few years ago, but, tenant 2 does not have any adverse credit on their file.
Will this go against the entire tenancy agreement? Or because there is a credit worthy tenant on the application as well, would a referencing company from an estate agent see it any different?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
