Shot Glass Desert

Options
Hi, Odd question but, I have a bundle of plastic shot glasses which I thought I could put a little something in at a BBQ party I am having soon but the question is what?

Any thoughts?

hmmm as its shot glasses an alcoholic dessert for the grown-ups? how about either fresh or preserved cherries soaked in Kirsh or brandy or vodka then some sweetened whipped cream piped or piled on top with a sprinkle of dark chocolate flakes?
for the kids leave out the booze! just sweeten the cherries with the preserving liquid and a little sugar.

you could do this with almost any soft fruit such as strawberries or raspberries or blackberries - just pick a liquer which goes nicely with the fruit.

Alcoholic jelly for the adults, and just normal for the kids. Chocolate mousse with rum for the adults, and without rum for the kids.

Here's some posh ideas, but maybe a bit too posh for a bbq.

You could do a cheesecake type thing- a teaspoon or two of gingernut crumbs at the bottom, topped off with a mixture of double cream, cream cheese, icing sugar and lemon juice and maybe a raspberry on top?

A rich Chocolate mousse with a raspberry on top?

When my mum has a party she often does little shot glasses with a kind of lemon meringue thing, basically just lemon curd, broken meringue, ice cream and chocolate shavings on top.

Very easy - mix 150ml double cream with 1-2 tbsp of alcohol (Cointreau is good, so is baileys) and heat until almost boiling. Pour over 50g dark chocolate (if you don't want the alcohol, use flavoured chocolate) and stir until melted. Pour into shot glasses and chill until set. It's really rich and is like a homemade version of those gu chocolate pots.

White chocolate mint mousse is a good one, I think it was a Nigella recipe I used. I also brushed melted milk choc onto the back of mint leaves and left them to set, peel away the mint leaf and you're left with a lovely milk chocolate leaf to decorate the top. Simple but really effective
