Can I still SBT through Egg - If I'm not in my 0% period.?

Hi all,

The 0% period of my Egg card is coming to an end...

What I'd like to know is, once I'm no longer in my 0% period - Can I still Balance Transfer on to my Egg (as in putting it into a positive balance) and then SBT the funds into my account ;)

Thanks

You most certainly can. I did this today. A Balance Transfer from Capital One put my Egg CC £5K into credit, then I just did an online SBT to my current account. How easy is that? Go for it, but make sure you don't go into the red on your Egg Card, obviously!

Hi. Forgive me being a bit of a thicko here - but this is all new to me.

From your example, if I have CapOne card on which I owe £5K - if I BT to Egg - then why does that show up as a credit on my Egg card - and not a debit. I thought I was transferring the debt?

I now this is probably obvious to you, but can you just clarify this.

    Thanks.

Taking Jeppo's post above as an example:

    1. Am I right in assuming that the Capital One card does not have be 0% at the time the balance transfer is made?

    2. Am I right in thinking that you do not have to be balance transferring real debt from the Capital One card, but just the Capital One credit limit?

    Thanks.
