Why don't you just install Ubuntu and Beryl?
I think the closest you will get to Beryl effects for XP is
if you buy and install Vista, but seems expensive when you
consider Ubuntu+Beryl is completely FREE:)"Gort, klaatu barada nikto"

The only other thing I can think of is using Stardock's WindowsFX and maybe with combination of DesktopX and Windowblinds.
