help with shower warranty

i purchased a shower just over 12 months ago from a large bathroom supplier,it lasted 5 months before developing a fault so theyarraanged for the manufacturers to come and fix,that lasted a further 4 months before the same part broke again,they came and fixed again as well as changing another part which was said to be the cause.needless to say the part as broken again.ive just rang the bathroom showroom i purchased the shower from who have now decided to wash their hand because the 12 month warranty is up !!.
can they do this? id be grateful of any info

NO they can't......the fact they fixed (or tried to) this problem 3 times and it's still an issue, means it could be argued it is technically not fit for purpose. You seem to have been quite patient in letting them try to fix it on a number of occasions, now it's gone again. you are well within your rights to get a new or alternative model.... Phone their "customer service" department, ask to speak to a manager or senior person, (try doing a bit of consumer rights research before hand make them aware you have done so)...... ask for a call/complaint reference number. ask them to reply to you in writing with what they propose to do about this issue........ they will cave in !!
