Aldi/boots 'broken'

Hi, bought a pair of Workwear boots from Aldi today £14.99. Debit cardLooked nice/fitted. Tried on properly at home and when tightening the top lace, the 'hook' the final lace goes onto to tighten, pinged out. It was held in by flimsy rivets.
Not fit for purpose ? Will Aldi give me a refund ?
Paperwork inside says complaints to the Importer/supplier to Aldi, a Dutch firm. No use there then.
Have heard that Aldi state no refunds ?
Any advice please

Sales of Goods Act 1974 says you are entitled to a refund, I had trouble at go outdoors yesterday with a refund of a purchase two days old (faulty) and they backed down and refunded me. Mention trading standards if things go badly to the manager, however i doubt you will have much trouble

Aldi do give refunds. Take them back ASAP and you'll get a refund or a replacement.0

Company policy cannot worsen your statutory rights. So, their no refund policy may exist but it would only be for change of mind type returns. Anything that is faulty or not fit for purpose you have a statutory right to return and as long as it is done quickly so that you have not been considered to have "accepted" the goods then you can demand the resolution be a refund (assuming you dont want a replacement)0 -
I have refunds from Aldi before. Just take it back as soon as possible with your receipt and explain the problem.0
