Transform Debt Collection

Hi

Not sure if this is in the right section, apologies if it's incorrect.

I've received a letter from Transform Debt Collectors asking for payment for £154.13 on behalf of Arrow Global Ltd. The letter is in my maiden name, but doesn't say anything about when the debt was incurred etc.

I got married in 2001 so anything in my maiden name would have been prior to this date and I can't remember anything to do with Arrow Global. I've checked my Credit Expert account and there isn't anything listed for Arrow Global which I owe.

Can you please advise what I should do - the letter is threatening me with court action but I don't want to pay anything I don't owe.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

    Hi

If you are not aware on any old debts of your own this could easily be just a fishing exercise and actually after another person with the same name as you.

You could reply with the prove it letter - which asks them to prove what the debt relates to - and then you can try to establish if its a debt that belongs to you. Letter when you know nothing about about the debt - AKA "Prove it" letter

Or you could wait to see if they write again with more details of the alleged debt.

Or given the timescales its quite likely that even if this was your debt it would almost certainly be statute barred by now. You could send the hybrid letter that basicially says you no nothing about this debt but if it is yours it would be statute barred.
