Virgin B/T question

Looking at B/T from my virgin credit card.
My husband will be taking the card out as I already have the major cards with good transfer rates.
Thing is, looking at martins rate checker, he has a 90% chance of getting a virgin card compared to 70% with halifax.
So the question is, dispite the money being transfered is a card in a different persons name will they still count it as virgin to virgin transfer and not allow it? There for making the halifax a better option?
