Signage.

I parked at the University Hospital of North Staffordshire this morning. Infested by APCOA. The signs posted above and next to the pay machines are virtually unreadable. The colour scheme doesn't help but the writing is tiny, I mean miniscule. I assume they are the paking ts & CS.
These signs have to be clear and readable surely? According to the BPA they do.
Is a complaint worthwhile to the BPA along with pictures?
I spoke to the APCOA goon yesterday, but only about cars not being parked properly in a designated space, he said the hospital had told them to ignore that particular, quote "offence"!

You'll get nowhere with a complaint to BPA. If you really want these signs fixed then do your homework and hit the hospital with it, but while you are at it you might want to do your homework on the entire PPC scam and hit the hospital with all of it.

You should also get a copy of the hospital's policy on parking. An FOI request will get you it, although they might just give you it for the asking. If it's anything like my local NHS Trust it'll be a complete joke.

Take it you haven't got a ticket? Good to see someone who cares and wants to go further.

I would take a print of the BPA Appendix on signage and photos of the Hospital ones.

I would then send a complaint to

    1. The PPC
    2. BPA
    3. The hospital manager
    4. The relevant Hospital Trust
    5. Your MP.
    6. Local paper

Now many people going to hospital are ill or under stress visiting in-patients. At times like that, signs need to be even clearer. I would also raise the point about unsuspecting people already being penalised with charges based on non-compliant signs and ask whether or not the people involved will be reimbursed.

Assuming you have the time to do this, of course.

    Thanks for raising it.
