I have used the threat of the 3 x deposit in my letter actually. I've included an excerpt from the regs with regards to that.
Part of me thinks she hasn't received one of the letters. Ie if she has moved or hasn't been to my old house to collect a letterMoney money money.

Actually I do have a question, if it goes to a court date. If I turn up with nothing ie no evidence of how I let the house but obviously neither does the landlord does that not make me look like a bit of a pansy? I shou,d have taken photos of how clean I left it really.Money money money.

Yes, it would help your case in court if you had photographs. Judges like to deal with written and photographic evidence.
But, my opinion for what it is worth, is that the judge is likely to side with you if the landlord has no proof of the condition when you moved in and out.
Also, if you do go to court remember - you pays yer money and you teks yer chance! There are no guarantees."If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken

Bring proof you paid the deposit and there was a tenancy, the rest is down to the landlord.0

take your laptop to a techie friend, find out if the hard drive was affected by the 'blow up' and is still readable (easy enough to take hard drive out look up model number on net for instructions, look at connections on hard drive, buy appropriate cable, voila, connect to your pc, access photos).
Google the hard drive model number for further help if u need it.0 -
I am no expert, but I believe it is done through the County Court on a Part 8 claim process:

Hi,
I can speak from personal experince on this issue as i am taking my LL to court in relation to not complying with the DPS.
I issued the claim under part 8, however because the LL has filed a defense to it, the court has now allocated it as a part 7 - small claims matter
The listing fee for cases such as these varies depending on how much your claim is worth but here is a breakdown on te fees

Howevere if you are on certain benefits then you can claim exemption.0 -
I am just filling out the paperwork now for the claim for my deposit. I haven't had a chance to do it yet.
I have also forwarded the original letter I sent to both addresses to her email that way I have covered all bases in terms of serving my letter if that makes sense?
Now I just have to word my claim properly!Money money money.

So....
Landlady clearly received my email with my bank details...She didn't reply.
However she will have received the court paperwork by the 15th (I think they sent it on the 12th) and then on the 16th £300 pops into my bank account.
Now she had originally said she was going to give me half of the deposit back because I had apparently caused damage to a wall, left the house dirty and got rid of a perfectly good sofa (which in fact was a sofa with rips down the back and a newspaper from 2006 inside the frame and which had mould growing under the seat cushion ie in the frame). I had phoned her up about the sofa and she had said to get rid of it! I think got myself one from a charity shop which when I left she didn't want.
So I was talking to my other half last night about this because I don 't know whether to pursue for the remaining £300 or not. I do think I would win as there isn't an inventory and I do have a photo of the mould but I don't know if it is worth it? I'd have to pay for the hearing as wellMoney money money.
