Can anyone explain why Kiddicare would do this ?
Thanks

Do you still have an account with 'Kiddicare'?
What does the "credit" search say?

You definitely haven't bought anything from their website (even if you paid in full).
Or maybe baby equipment from another website but that is actually owned by kiddicare?
If not then to dispute a searchWhat do I do if there's a search on my report that I know nothing about?
Contact the lender who made the search and ask for further details. If the lender agrees to remove a search they will tell us and we will change your report. It may be that the search is in the name of a finance company used by a smaller company which you may know.

Confirms my suspicions then.0 -
Very strange ! Rang kiddicare and they have no idea why a check was carried out as no orders have been placed with them0

There is a chance the search may have been made as part of an existing agreement that you have (i.e. a store card of some description where they have performed a check as part of your account maintenance).
It's difficult to say without the data though - you can give us a call at 0844 481 0800 or drop us an email at CustomerService@CreditExpert.co.uk and we'll look into this for you.

This is in their sales T&Cs:
ANTI FRAUD MEASURES - PROTECTING OUR CUSTOMERS
To ensure that your credit, debit or charge card is not being used without your consent, we will validate name, address and other personal information supplied by you during the order process against appropriate third party databases. By accepting these terms and conditions you consent to such checks being made. In performing these checks personal information provided by you may be disclosed to a registered Credit Reference Agency which may keep a record of that information. You can rest assured that this is done only to confirm your identity, that a credit check is not performed and that your credit rating will be unaffected. All information provided by you will be treated securely and strictly in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
Still doesn't explain why they searched if you didn't buy anything from them.0 -
Hello There,
May be this is not the right place for this for I do not know how else to get your attention.
I have applied for my statutory report 5 days ago and since then raised 3 emails. Spoke to the only number (credit expert) you provide. But no one is willing to speak to me about the statutory report. However they wanted to sell their credit expert to me time and again.
It seems to me, despite the Government directive to make it easier for consumers to access credit file, CRA companies like yours would do anything to manipulate the loophole.
Money was taken away from card straight away but no pin number, no assurance etc.
Can you please look into that for me?
Best,
A0
