Credit Score help

Good Morning

I logged into noddle today for the first time in a while. Last time i checked i was 4/5 and had nothing against me regarding late payments. I applied and got accepted for a credit card may 2013. I have closed 2 other around the same time.

When i logged in my score had dropped to 1/5. I have had an ongoing issue with orange (now showing 5months late payment on noddle) which has finally been resolved. I closed my account with them in october 2012 and so these late payment shouldn't have happened. Would this affect it so much? Also is there anyway to get it removed from my record?

Thanks James

A score 1/5 means you've successfully been mugged off into believing these scores actually means something when in reality they're meaningless calculated numbers that has no bearing on your creditworthiness.

thanks for your response. I've heard people say that is just numbers. What i would like though is to get the late payment marker off my account. I'm sure that doesn't help anything by being there. Can someone tell me how i go out sorting that?

    thanks James

A late payment can't just be removed if that was the case there's no point in having credit agencies where company's check your credit history.
CRAs can't move them unless they have permission off the company that gave you a late payment.

If you feel your late payment was injusrified contact the company what gave you a late payment but think you'll be very lucky if they remove it as its a true reflection on ones credit file

cheers for replying again. I will try and contact orange as i did actually close the account in october and they accepted that they made a mistake and should have closed it. So the late payments shouldn't have existed/ occured.

Email here and explain the situation.
I had an issue with orange 2 months ago and they replied really quickly, but they say you might not get a response for 7 days.

I have tried using the fax number in the past as well not getting very far. I suppose i'll have to do a more indepth search to find a number to call. Bloody orange.
