Glut of cherry tomatoes - secondary school

Morning all, I'm hoping you ladies (and gents) can give me some ideas. We've been given around 10kg of cherry tomatoes to use in school. I'm going to make some quiches for our breakfast club tomorrow and then have a yr 7 class for a 1 hour lesson: does anyone have any ideas for a recipe we could make. I have most basics such as flour, marg, eggs etc available. It's a fairly weak class though so they wouldn't be able to do quiche in the time we have. I know we can freeze them for later but it seems a pity when they're so lovely fresh. I am also going to see if I can persuade any passing students today to just munch a few:D

Have you tasted them? Are they ok raw? Sometimes they need cooking.
Can they be roasted and made into soup?Bossymoo

You can sort of oven dry them. Cut them in half, sprinkle a tiny amount of salt on them, lay them out on a baking tray cut side down, and put them in a low oven until they're sort of leathery. It takes a while, depending on how big and juicy they are.
It concentrates the flavour so much, eating them is like eating sweets. I guarantee that kids that don't like eating fruit and veg will munch on them until they're all gone.Better is good enough.0 -
Roast tomato tart
Puff pastry base, slice the tomatoes and layer them on the pastry sprinkle with balsamic vinegar and a little salt and bake in the oven. You could add chunks of mozzarella cheese and a sliced red onion if you have themBlessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

Thank you for the idea, they are actually very good raw and I've managed to use up loads more than I thought possible by just offering them to any passing pupils. I used a lot in some quiches and will use some in curry tomorrow and then might have a go at drying some.
Thanks Honey bear for that idea.
Its a good idea butterfly brain but puff pastry is one thing I don't have and wouldn't have time to make, will definitely remember for next time.I was off to conquer the world but I got distracted by something sparkly
