My 3 network

My mobile, passed down to me from my son is locked into My 3 Network. I have been trying to top up for the last 7 hours but their system is down.
I telephoned their customer support, no help ,and :mad:have sent an e- mail only to be told they will get back within 5 days!!
What a company, apparently I can have my phone unlocked by them and then insert a different sim, but wait for it they want nearly £15 for this:eek:

Beware before you sign up with 3

OH! Thankyou. As you have made us aware of a poor customer service. By the way what is your location now?

That has to be one of the oddest responses I've read.

OP - all networks charge unlock fees, can you get into a shop and stick a tenner on that way?

I know O2 doesn't. They did it for free when I was with them.

Depending on the phone/your plan O2 do charge. If you're pay monthly it's free, but PAYG can be charged anything up to £15 I believe.

    Hi paddyrg,

Yeh that first response, which I see has been removed, certainly puzzled me.:(

The strange English and useless comment are typical of forum spammers - they are paid to post in forums in order to post links for spurious 'SEO'.

I know a guy who O2 wanted £25 to unlock his phone on pay monthly, 3 years old handset. It'll depend on the provider and contract, but is very common!
