Mortgage TR1 Witness Mistake? Help!

Hi,

This is my first post so apologies if this question has previously been covered...

I am currently in the process of buying my first new build house, and am at the stage of exchanging contracts. I received a letter today from the Solicitors containing a couple of forms which needed signing and witnessing. One of the forms was named 'TR1' and required a witness which included their signature, name and address under my signature and asked my dad to fill this in and be my witness.

After reading through the whole document in closer detail I noticed the witness needed to be 'independant' and not family!

Will this be ok to send as is, or will this be picked up on? I could cross/tippex out and seek another witness, or I could write underneath a 2nd witness and explain what I had done? I'm not sure how strict the requirements are, and if errors are allowed? And with me being a first time buyer I am slightly worried by this.

Any thoughts/suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks in advance!
