Capital One Aspire World - without the benifits

Capital One Aspire World card looked like a great offer, with it's load free overseas spending, but it is not if you already have a Capital One Aspire card! If you want load free overseas spending it's going to cost.

This the the response I got from them when I queried the terms of my card and if I could have the terms advertised:-

Thank you for your message.

I will be glad to help you.

I appreciate your concern about the non-sterling transaction fee not being charged for Aspire World customers. Please note that this offer is for new customers only. I’m sorry for the disappointment this causes.

However, please be aware that non-sterling transactions will not earn cashback on the new Aspire World card.

I can confirm that the non-sterling transaction fee of 2.75% will be added if you make non-sterling transactions on your Aspire World card and has been part of your terms and conditions.

Unfortunately, we’re unable to transfer your existing card to a Capital One Aspire World card. This is because the agreement you originally signed is specific to your existing card.

To change the card you currently have, you’d have to close your existing account and make a new application. However, if you did decide to do this, we can’t guarantee that we’d accept your application because each of our cards has different lending criteria. I’m unable to tell you more about the criteria we use, as this has to remain confidential to be effective. I’m sorry for any disappointment this causes.

As you have a cashback account we would like to inform you that any cashback earned cannot be credited onto a closed account and the cashback will be forfeited.

The current cashback amount that will appear on your January 2014 statement will be £XX

Yep, it's been discussed on here recently - you're not alone..the mistake they made was calling the new card Aspire World again..maybe Aspire Global or something would have helped to differentiate the products..
Never argue with an idiot. Especially not this idiot because I'm always right anyway.
