    E7 is a separate tariff.
If you mean that you can't swap your E7 fixed deal to a non-E7 fixed deal that you would have gotten by choosing that tariff back in time, then no, you can't, unless the company lets you.

Some companies(BG and E-ON to name two) allow you to move from E7 to a single rate tariff without changing the meter. They just aggregate the readings. e.g. 1,000kWh on off-peak and 3,000kWh on daytime is treated as 4,000kWh at a single rate.

Other companies require a change of meter; some charge for that meter change, others don't.

Probably, but what's making you so mad? The change of meter should be free of charge with nPower in the situation you describe :)

    Hi kev720,

We would always recommend a meter change in a situation like this, as it would prevent any other problems further down the line, and is the simplest option.

The meter change would be free of charge.

    Hope this helps!

    Adam :)

It depends what sort of meter you've got - when we had ours changed from dual rate to single rate a bloke came with a laptop, put a sensor on the front of the meter, pressed a few keys and "voila" there it was done. Took all of 5 minutes.

I actually wanted to keep it as a dual rate meter but with a single tariff, ie just add the two readings together as I wanted to monitor the use on each circuit independently, but E-on insisted on reconfiguring the meter.

It's still got the two circuits connected independently (two distribution units) - one is connected to the electric heating system and the other for everything else.

The more important question is, if you don't still have an immersion heater or NSH's, why are you on E7 anyway?
What's changed recently in thw way you heat and hot water the house to make you think that standard rate will be cheaper?
No free lunch, and no free laptop ;)
