I have tried to install additional 512mb ram memory and the computer won`t boot properly,
new memory is:
512mb PL2 4200 CL4 240 pin dimm (kingston)
existing memory is:
512mb DDR SD RAM PC2 4300 (corsair)
was sold memory by local pc shop who said that new memory is compatible,
uninstalled new memory and comp boots up ok.
any views welcome thanks

could be a faulty ram module.
the speeds are different but they should work ok (at the slower speed of the 2)0 -
Have you tried it just with the new memory to see if it works. If it doesn't you know that it's faulty, if it does there's a compatibility issue between the RAM sticks (I've seen it happen, when they are two different brands)."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"
