Advise - Parking Eye Charge

Hi - new to this. I have been reading about Parking Eye now for several months following them taking up two car parks local to us. We had received a fine for parking, as per all the advise we ignored the first, second and third one then nothing.

Today my husbands, ex-girlfriend text to say she has a letter there for him regarding a parking fine for £100 to pay by next friday or they take him to court - I didnt believe her and thought it was a ploy - but hey what do I know! Anyway throughout the discussions it seems that in the letter they sent to her it says that they have contacted DVLA and the registered keeper details are not correct for the car address hence why they sent it to her place... 1) The car we have was NEVER registered there, we never even owned it then. 2) Surely if they have contacted DVLA they would have the correct address for the car - especially considering I have received the tax notification! 3) My husband was only living with her for 3 months and never bought anything on credit, changed bank details etc only changed his licenceaddress. So how/why did they go to her? 4) Are they taking people to court now?

Sorry about waffling I am just very confused about what to do and why they have gone to her - she is calling them tomorrow to give them the correct address .. Anyhow, does anyone have any advise please? Thank you so much and once again sorry if waffling! K

I nexplained they traced him to her address by using Experian or similar. You can check this by getting a copy of his credit report from them. Free - see this web site.

You now wait for the Notice to arrive. Chances are it is out of time for POPLA, but when you get it, see if it is headed Notice to Keeper.

When you get it, let us know what it says.

I think the poster means it's a Letter before Action (I do wish people would post what the 'letters' are called, what the heading is each time as it would be easier to follow - although I appreciate this poster hasn't seen the 'letter' first hand yet).

Yes Parking Eye are taking people to Court in some cases now (a complete change to last year). It is pointless her phoning them IMHO. You are best getting that letter and seeing it for yourself as we do now suggest a response to a Letter before Action.

Was it an Aldi car park and was it just ONE fake PCN? When(ish), what month and what contravention (if an overstay, what caused it?) Was it a free car park?
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
