I rarely get irritated but this has been the week for it - Expedia and now Royal Mail.

Note left - you have a customs charge of £13.58.

I'm confused? i have not ordered anything that would require a customs charge.

Curiosity piqued I Toddle off to the parcel office - It was a Tee shirt i had ordered.... for £3.00.

Call up Royal Mail to dispute the customs charge - apparently you cant dispute the charge. Either you suck it up and pay it or they don't give you the item.

Checked with the retailer - they put the value on the front.

So basically I have been stolen from. Not a great deal of money but still.
Please note I have a cognitive disability - as such my wording can be a bit off, muddled, misspelt or in some cases i can miss out some words totally...

Well lets get some facts in the way of your rant
A £3 T shirt item isnt due any VAT
So the question is what value did they put on the package?

VAT and customs charge is not the same thing

The customs charge is based on the price of the item within AND the cost of delivery

so if item and delivery come to £8 then one would pay customs on £8.

    so probs an error somewhere

however you don't have to accept the parcel, it will be sent back to the company
    63 mortgage payments to go.

    Zero wins 2016 😥

A £3 shirt may well be charged VAT if it was imported from the Channel Islands as the £15 low value relief no longer applies to goods purchased there and posted to the UK.

Its was a £3.00 tee - from Usa

The staff at the office could not see what the vendor wrote as the charge as they had stuck the fee2pay note over the item value line.(it tore the label when i tried to peel it off)

The tee company state the value of £3.00 was placed on the front. (to be fair to them i have ordered quite a few tees off them and they always do put the value on the front)

I called RM - advised there is no appeals process and i either have to leave it and have it sent back or pay for it.

The vendor advised me he will not refund me either as not his issue - its RM.

In the end I paid 1. because I needed the item (it was a gift) but it irritated me no end. 2. because it was costing me more time. effort and stress than it was worth.

In fact it cost me £99.99 more because i could not find the sorting office for love nor money and ended up rage buying a Sat Nav :D
