What are the servicing costs for your car like in your area?

Just curious as ours seem to have risen just over the last year by about £50 or 25%!

Average quote for our Ford Focus 1.6 diesel (59) is between £180 and £200 for Full service
FIat 500 1.2 is about £165-180 for the same.
Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

Savings target June 18 - £22,281.99 / £25,000

Paid £40 for an oil change (almost as cheap as I can the oil/filter for)

Did the rest myself as and when, did spark plugs 3 months ago (about £20), air filter (£6) last month, cabin/pollen filter (£7) a few weeks back.

I know my car, I listen for noises/etc, I fix stuff when I need to, I give it a "once over" every month (checking tyre's, brakes, exhaust, etc etc).

There's a part of me that just doesn't trust a garage to do the proper job and I think that blindly leaving a car for a whole year (or more) without checking or maintaining it is just plain dangerous.

Ian are you sure yours hasn't 'risen' due to it being a larger service this time?

Mine go like this for a petrol Astra at a main dealer (all include pick up/drop off and mini valet).
    1st minor £150ish
    2nd major £172
    3rd minor £?
4th major with timing belt £?

No mate those were just general quotes from places that do fixed price services in my area and also some just based on the make, model engine. No info about mileage or age etc.

Just got a quote from local independent garage of £170 service + mot and second car discounted to £135 for the same
